Product Description
Agastache 'Rosie Posie' PP25857 (30)ct Flat
Common Name: Anise Hyssop
‘Rosie Posie’ bears loads of hot pink flowers with magenta purple calyxes just at the top of the foliage for a neatly proportional look. Because the calyxes are so colorful, this plant continues to look like it is blooming long after it is finished. In northern zones, it typically blooms from midsummer through early fall but in southern zones it starts blooming much earlier.
Its aromatic, bright green foliage grows into a densely compact, ball-shaped clump, much more refined looking than older cultivars. Agastache are well-adapted to thrive in dry soils and is right at home in rock gardens and xeric container plantings where it will attract hummingbirds, butterflies, and honeybees. This is one of the easiest perennials to grow.
Anise Hyssop is edible. The flowers and foliage have a subtle anise or licorice-like flavor to them. Try adding a few leaves or flowers to flavor teas, salads, or desserts.
This is a great plant for hot, dry, sunny climates. Well-drained soil is a must, especially in the winter. This plant will not tolerate heavy clay soil but grows well in average to light soil with low to medium moisture levels. In the sandy soil of zone 5b trial garden, this variety has overwintered with flying colors for the past two years. Even so, it's officially listed as a zone 6 perennial so some winter protection might be required in your zone. No serious pest or disease problems have been reported with this plant.

The starts of agastache "rosie posie" are good , strong, vigorous, and well packaged. Root development is substantial and teasing out the roots allow for a 6 inch deep root system to begin growth. Much needed in Arizona's warm spring. Transplanting seems successful and starts seem healthy and strong.
