Common Name: Astilbe-Japanese.
Scarlet-red flowers are held in open, lacy panicles, triangular shaped plumes bloom in mid-summer. Forest green foliage and mahogany-red stems. A member of Astilbe japonica (Japanese Astilbe), a species characterized by an early bloom time and glossy green leaves often tinged with red. Flowers are produced in dense, pyramidal clusters.
