Drought tolerant and easy to grow native species, from Illinois south to Texas and across to Florida, can be found in dry woods and on slopes.
Easy to grow in most soil conditions; performs best in medium moisture, well-drained soil. Spreads by stolons, but is not considered to be invasive.
Low maintenance choice for border fronts, containers, rock gardens, ground cover or for mass planting. Attracts butterflies and deer resistant.
