Blooms Mid-spring - Late spring
Unique Heuchera relative native to China has large, green, fan-shaped leaves. Beginning in summer, red pigmentation begins to creep inward from the edges and by fall, they are fire red. The foliage forms a low, spreading mound. Plant it in humus rich, evenly moist, well-drained soil and partial shade. Clumps can be divided about every 4 years or so.
Delicate white, star-shaped flowers appear just above the foliage in mid to late spring, but this plant is grown mainly for its attractive foliage.
Use as a slowly spreading groundcover in part shade.
