Full sun to partial shade.
Colorful and compact, creeping Phlox can reach 6 inches in height and spread out 2 feet, creating a thick mat of evergreen to semi-evergreen needle-like foliage. Some foliage remains green throughout winter in most zones.
Early spring flowers attract butterflies.
Cold-hardy to zone 3, it will benefit with protection from winter burn.
Use in rock gardens, along paths, on slopes, at foundations, hillsides, and at the edge of beds or low walls (for short cascading effect).
