Sedum rupestre 'Angelina'
Common Name: Stonecrop-Blue Spruce
Zones 3 to 11, evergreen in most zones.
Prefers full sun and well-drained soil.
Mature height 3 to 5 inches, spread 15 to 18 inches.
Vigorous, low creeping, evergreen, mat-forming, groundcover with needle-shaped, golden yellow foliage that changes to reddish-amber-orange tinge which lasts all winter long in the autumn. Clusters of yellow, starry flowers in summer.
Low, spreading Sedums form a solid mat of foliage which is excellent for covering slopes or can be planted as a groundcover in sunny, dry areas. They are extremely drought tolerant and many are evergreen. 'Angelina' also looks great in combination container plantings where it will spill over the sides of the pot. These are terrific low-maintenance plants that always look their best.
Tolerates most soil types, heat cold and it is drought resistant. Spacing 18 to 24 inches. In the right location, Angelinamay spread two (2) feet a season.
Excellent choice for rock gardens with no foot traffic. Attracts butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbit resistant. Great in combination containers, 'Angelina' has a trailing cascading habit. Prune anytime, as needed.
Stems are subject to breaking and rooting where they land.
