Product Description
Veronica 'Waterperry Blue'
Common Name: Creeping Speedwell
Zones 4 to 8, maybe 9.
Full sun to part shade; light afternoon shade in southern zones.
Plants reach 4 to 6 inches tall and 12 inches wide;
creeping, low-growing, long-flowering groundcover.
Growth rate: Moderate.
Semi-evergreen, glossy green leaves; small, soft lavender-blue flowers, with white eye, mass in waves of blooms from late spring to fall. During cooler months, glossy, deep green leaves' burgundy and copper overtones intensify as the temperature drops.
'Waterperry Blue' is so undemanding, it will grow in any well-drained soil; though average, medium moisture, well-drained soil is best. No serious pests or diseases bother this plant.
Unlike tall veronicas, this dwarf variety makes an excellent groundcover or alpine plant for the rock garden. It is also great at softening the hard edges of stone paths, walls, edging or between flagstones. Cascading over containers, its salt tolerant, attracts lots of butterflies and deer resistant.
Ten (10) plants in 4.5 inch containers per flat (or tray).
