Common Name: Astilbe-Japanese.
Dark magenta red, triangular shaped plumes are borne on darker red stems and bloom in mid to late summer. Leaves emerge with a bronze-red tint in spring, then turn dark green. A member of Astilbe japonica (Japanese Astilbe), a species characterized by an early bloom time and glossy green leaves often tinged with red. Flowers are produced in dense, pyramidal clusters.
