Product Description
Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' PPAF (20)ct Flat
Timeless Collection
Common Name: Coral Bells
Do you love 'Berry Timeless' but hoped for that flowering performance in different foliage colors? Your wish is granted! The Timeless Collection boasts different colors such as purple, yellow, black, and silver. Each has a reblooming flower performance like their predecessor with similar sizes for ease in combination.
Chartreuse yellow foliage has a silver overlay and matures to lime green. Foliage color is best in partial sunlight, and greener in full shade. Intense, rich rose pink flowers contrast beautifully with the bright foliage. The foliage is more chartreuse yellow than the silver gray of 'Berry Timeless'.
Breeders have come a long way with creating Heucheras with fantastic flowers, but this one also has very attractive foliage that forms a compact, dense clump. The flowers stand in perfect proportion and contrast to the foliage.
Coral bells are easy to grow and blend easily with most other perennials in the landscape. Because of their low, mounding habit, they are often used as edging along paths or in containers. Try cutting a few of the tall flower scapes for fresh bouquets.
Heucheras are easy perennials to grow and fit nicely in the front of any border, rock garden, or container. They grow most vigorously and have the strongest colors when grown in partial shade (preferably afternoon shade). They can also be grown in full shade, but their growth rate will be very slow. Some varieties can withstand full sun in northern climates if they have consistent moisture, but their colors tend to fade with the intensity of the sun. The soil should be amended with organic matter prior to planting. It should also have good drainage and a neutral pH.
Heucheras are evergreen in areas with mild winters. If properly sited out of the way of winter winds and with reliable snow cover, gardeners in northern regions may also find their heucheras acting as evergreens. If the plant looks tattered by early spring, shear off any damaged leaves to make room for the vibrant new foliage which will fill in quickly.
Heucheras can be grown under Black Walnut trees because they are resistant to the toxin Juglone which the trees emit from their roots.
Heucheras are also salt tolerant. They are useful in the north along pathways which are salted in winter or for people gardening in coastal regions. Occasionally in northern regions, heucheras have a tendency to heave out of the ground because of the freeze/thaw cycle. To combat heaving, add an extra layer of compost around the plant's roots in the fall. In the spring, if the plants have heaved at all, the new roots will grow into the fresh new layer of compost.

Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' is a captivating perennial that stands out for both its vibrant coral bells and its unique foliage. Unlike many Heuchera varieties that are primarily grown for their foliage, 'Timeless Glow' offers the best of both worlds. This makes it a favorite among gardeners seeking long-lasting color and versatility. This comprehensive guide will delve into the characteristics, care requirements, uses, and similar plants to Heuchera 'Timeless Glow'.
Characteristics of Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' This enchanting perennial, native to North America, forms a compact, clumping mound that typically reaches 8-10 inches in height and 16-18 inches in width. Its most striking feature is the chartreuse yellow foliage, adorned with a silver overlay, which matures to a refreshing lime green. The foliage color intensifies in partial sun but deepens to a richer green in the shade. Each leaf is uniquely shaped, with 5 lobes and finely toothed edges.
Adding to its allure, Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' produces an abundance of delicate, rose-pink flowers from early to late summer. These bell-shaped blooms, held aloft on slender stems, rise 14-16 inches above the foliage, creating a delightful contrast. The flowers are not only visually appealing but also rich in nectar, attracting a variety of pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The flower scapes are particularly noteworthy for their perfect proportion to the foliage, making them ideal for adding to bouquets.
Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' is also known for its extended blooming period, providing continuous color from spring to fall. It is a deer-resistant plant, making it a suitable choice for gardens frequented by these animals.
Care Requirements for Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' is a relatively low-maintenance plant that thrives in a variety of conditions. Here is a detailed guide to its care:
- Light While adaptable to different light conditions, Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' generally prefers partial shade. It can tolerate full sun, particularly in cooler climates, but requires protection from the intense afternoon sun, especially in hotter regions. Ideally, provide morning sun and afternoon shade to maintain the vibrancy of its foliage.
- Temperature This hardy perennial thrives in USDA Hardiness zones 4-9. It can withstand freezing temperatures and even survive harsh winters with proper care.
- Soil Well-drained soil is crucial for the health of Heuchera 'Timeless Glow'. The soil should be rich in organic matter and have a slightly acidic to neutral pH. If your garden soil is heavy clay or tends to retain excess moisture, consider amending it with compost, shredded leaves, or peat moss to improve drainage. Alternatively, plant in raised beds or containers to ensure optimal growing conditions.
- Winter Care In colder climates, Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' may be susceptible to root heaving due to freeze-thaw cycles. To prevent this, apply a layer of compost around the base of the plant in the fall. This acts as insulation and provides a stable environment for the roots.
- Watering Consistent moisture is essential, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Water thoroughly when the soil feels dry a few inches below the surface, allowing it to dry slightly between waterings.
- Fertilizer Feed Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' every 2-3 weeks during the growing season using a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. Discontinue fertilization after September 1st to allow the plant to prepare for winter dormancy.
- Pruning and Mulching Regularly remove any dead or damaged foliage to maintain a tidy appearance and promote healthy growth. In late fall or early spring, cut back the plant to a few inches above the ground to encourage new growth in the spring. Deadheading the spent flowers can also prolong the blooming period and prevent self-seeding. Applying a 2-4 inch layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or compost, helps retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature.
- Pests and Diseases Heuchera 'Timeless Glow' is generally resistant to most pests and diseases. However, it is important to be vigilant against the black vine weevil, a notorious pest of Heuchera. These small, brown or black weevils feed on the leaves at night, while their larvae damage the roots. Signs of infestation include notches on the leaf edges and wilting. To control black vine weevils, use a combination of cultural practices, such as handpicking adults and applying beneficial nematodes to the soil, and insecticides if necessary.

Other Details
The most important part of the plant is its root system. Healthy roots are the foundation of a healthy, vibrant plant. The type of plug container used is based on the specific needs of the plants. Perennials offered as bare root traditionally perform better when planted as bare root.Planted in a specialized mix, potted plants have well established root systems. Top growth stage will vary depending on the current life cycle and time of year when shipped. In Winter and early Spring dormant plants may be shipped. Dormant plants may be planted right away, even before the last frost date.
Most bare root varieties are field grown for at least one season, though Hemerocallis and Hosta are grown for two seasons. The bulk of the soil is removed during the harvesting process and the tops of most varieties are trimmed back to the crown. They are graded, packed in shredded aspen or sphagnum moss and stored in freezers until ready to be shipped.

Plant information and care is provided in the Overview section, Plant Genus Page and general information is provided in the Planting Care & Guides. Additional questions can be asked on each Plant page.
Plant Spacing: Using the maximum mature spread or width of a plant to guide spacing, ensures space to grow to full size. To fill an area sooner, plant them closer together. Just remember, future thinning or transplanting may be needed.
Water: Keep a close eye on newly planted perennials, especially throughout the first growing year. Most early plant loss is due to too much or too little water!
